In Ecstasy

After a terrible sleepless night my alarm goes off, signaling the start of Newcastle vs Middlesbrough. The past week I have been stressing about this match, a loss or even a draw means that Newcastle would get relegated. You can imagine the utter disappointment felt when the ball rebounds off our keeper into Habib Beye and into the back of the net in the third minute. Steven Taylor saves the day however with a fantastic header, putting us level. The next 62 mintues I was panicking, we needed a goal to stay in the Premier League, Obafemi Martins does the trick, scoring a goal in the 71st minute. Then to top things off Lovenkrands scores one in the 86th.

Everyone I talked to the past week has doubted Newcastle's ability to win this match, filling me with not so happy thoughts but we've done it and now here we sit in 17th above Hull on goal difference. Things are looking up for the Toon Army.
There aren't any words that can describe the joy I'm feeling. It's one thing to be happy after your team qualifies for Europe it's another totally different feeling to see your team come out of the relegation zone. I'd just like to thank Australia for producing Mark Viduka who had a good game today, holding up the ball, setting up goals and winning man of the match.

Utter Joy.

  1. good result Jordan!!! very nice man. heard viduka did really good. dont worry about hull city, one of thier fixtures is against Manchester United. Your team verses Fulham and Finn's Aston Villa. Tough teams they are, but with your commitment to watch your team play, I see them getting out of relegation!!
